Professional Biography:

Mr. Abdullah Al Faruq, an Assistant Professor of Department of Pharmacy, is an accomplished
individual with a strong academic background and a passion for pharmaceutical research. He
completed his Bachelor of Pharmacy and Master of Pharmacy from Southern University
Bangladesh in 2011 and 2012 respectively. He obtained “Vice Chancellor Award” and
“Academic Excellence Award” for outstanding academic achievement in undergraduate and
graduate program respectively. Currently, he is pursuing PhD in the Department of Pharmacy,
Jahangirnagar University, Savar, Dhaka.
Mr. Faruq is a registered A-Grade Pharmacist from Pharmacy Council of Bangladesh bearing
registration number A-6218. He has also excelled as a trainer in the project titled "Establishment
and Operation of Model Medicine Shop in Bangladesh," where he has contributed significantly
to the development and improvement of the pharmaceutical sector in the country.
Mr. Faruq started his career as a Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy, Southern University
Bangladesh in 2015 and presently holds the position of Assistant Professor. His research interests
primarily revolve around the evaluation of biological and pharmacological activities of medicinal
plants, as well as the isolation and characterization of bioactive components. He has authored more than 16 publications in peer-reviewed national and international journals, which showcase
his expertise and valuable insights into the pharmaceutical field.
Mr. Faruq actively participates in national and international seminars and workshops enabling
him to stay updated with the latest advancements in his field and engage with fellow researchers
and professionals. Outside of his professional endeavors, he served as the "Office Secretary" of
the "Central Alumni Association" of Southern University Bangladesh.
Mr. Abdullah Al Faruq hails from the Lakhmipur District in Bangladesh.
