আন্তর্জাতিক মাতৃভাষা দিবস ও মহান একুশে ফেব্রুয়ারি উপলক্ষে ভাষা সৈনিকদের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা

The authorities of Southern University observed the Amar Ekushey and International Mother Language day on February 21, 2016 with due solemnity and respect to the martyrs. The Day was started by placing the wreaths at Shaheed Minar, for which a rally was brought out comprising a large number of teaching & admin staffs and students. The National Flag was struck at half-mast, while the black-color flag was hoisted in token of condolence to the martyrs. The black badges were also put on to commemorate the ultimate sacrifice of the students and activists. After that a discussion session, Dua Mahfil and Cultural program were held at University Hall Room where Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Nurul Mustafa spoke as the Chief Guest.

Founder of Southern University Mr. Sarwar Jahan,  Pro-VC Prof.Dr. Sharifuzzaman,Professor, Dr. A.N.M Abdul Muqtader, Registrar Dr. Ishrat Jahan, Professor Engineer Ali Ashraf, Professor Mohiuddin Chowdhury,Professor Mohiuddin Khaled, all Departments head, teachers, officers and students were also present the program.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Nurul Mustafa said, We proud of our Bengali language. We should learn Bengali language properly. He highlighted the background, history various topics about the Language Movement on the occasion.

Others Speakers said, “This is our ultimate failure that we could not establish the Bengali language yet at every sphere of our national life following the liberation war. We could not hold up our affluent culture and heritage before the world, instead we are highly imbued with the alien culture lamentably. Everyone to work unified so as to promote the heritage and culture in front of the world. They repeatedly encouraged all to use the Bangla language
