Prof. Mohammad Mozammel Hoque

Professor Engineer Mohammad Mozammel Hoque , former first Vice-Chancellor of Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology(CUET) join Southern University as Vice-Chancellor.

Professor Mohammad Mozammel Hoque , former first Vice-Chancellor of Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology(CUET). Professor Hoque was born in a noble family of Rangunia, Chattogram and graduated from BUET in the year 1969 and did his Master in the year 1978. He started his teaching career at CUET in 1973. He was selected as an unprecedented Dean of Faculty of Engineering in 2006-2007and left his responsibilities brilliantly as Departmental Head, Director of the Institute and a member of Senate at different phases throughout his tenure at CUET. He attended a number of seminars concerning engineering.  He had a huge contribution to the field of engineering research and many of his research works were greeted cordially in national and international arena. He is directly and indirectly involved in many social and cultural welfare activities.

Having extensive and varied professional experience, Prof. Mozammel Hoque is working as an Expert Member, of many organizations and Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology (CUET), Professor Hoque is Member of American Concrete Institute (ACI) and Bangladesh Earthquake Society, Dhaka. He was Syndicate Member of BGC Trust University, International Islamic University Chattogram.

In the year 2006 Professor Mohammad Mozammel Hoque joined Southern University, shortly after he established the Department of Civil Engineering. Under his leadership and close supervision the department achieved IEB accreditation. Now the Department of Civil Engineering is number one in Chattogram and Out of 23 Universities it is Number seven in the country.    

March 16, 2021 Professor Mohammad Mozammel Hoque was appointed as Vice-Chancellor of Southern University Bangladesh by Honorable President and Chancellor.

Professor Mohammad Mozammel Hoque is a father of one son and his wife is a doctor.
