Dr. Md. Qamrul Ahsan is an accomplished academic, researcher, and administrator who has made significant contributions to teaching, research, and university service at Southern University Bangladesh. He currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy and holds key administrative responsibilities, including serving as the Additional Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and contributing as an assistant proctor.
Dr. Ahsan earned his PhD in Natural Products (Biological Sciences) in 2025 from the Institute of Biological Sciences at the University of Rajshahi. He began his academic career as a Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy, Southern University Bangladesh on February 1, 2010, and served in this role until December 31, 2015. In recognition of his academic excellence and dedication, he was promoted to Assistant Professor on January 1, 2016, and later to Associate Professor on January 1, 2026.
Throughout his career, Dr. Ahsan has actively contributed to the development and implementation of teaching, learning, and assessment strategies aligned with outcome-based education (OBE). He has contributed extensively to the scientific community through his research and publications. He has authored two books and more than thirty research articles published in national and international peer-reviewed journals, including contributions to journals such as Pharmaceutical Technology and Photochemistry.
Beyond academia, Dr. Ahsan is actively involved in professional and community organizations. He serves as a member and Joint Secretary of the Centre for Health, Agriculture, and Socio-economic Advancements (CHASA), founded in Lalmonirhat, Bangladesh. His work reflects a strong commitment to advancing scientific knowledge and contributing to the broader academic and research community.
In addition to his academic and research responsibilities, Dr. Ahsan continuously engages in professional development initiatives, including Training of Trainers (ToT) programs, to enhance teaching methodologies and quality assurance practices. His career is characterized by a dedication to excellence, innovation, and lifelong learning in higher education.
