It is our wish that every student who comes to the Department of General Education leaves with an experience that is enthralling, motivating and wholesome. Any student at Southern University will begin the journey with the academic stack of General Education. Schooling with these compulsory skills help them to coup to their departmental study and also to the career in further.
The Department offers studies in four broad areas ie; Arts and History, General Science, Language, and Social Science. In this era of competitive world, being expertise in a particular applied field can help you to ensure your own survival but if you can undertake generalization of knowledge in your academic pursuit, it would be the savior of the world community and great humanity. With a view to ‘Commitment to Academic Excellence’, the slogan of Southern University Bangladesh, the GenEd. Department is tirelessly endeavoring to enshrine the students in such a manner that, they can be delighted through enlightening with generalization of Knowledge in diverse fields.
Over the last century, the world has been produced a significant number of scientists, inventors, leaders and practitioners of various pragmatic fields and who have contributed their level best to reach the generation to the apex of sophistication, but yet deficit of trust among community is going on for lack of our realization of being a good human being. The endeavor of the Department would come true if the students can contribute to the society for peace and harmony of humanity.
Besides this steadfast goal, the Department of GenEd. is sincerely engaged in grooming the students with all kinds of Co-curricular and Extracurricular activities and potential trainings in both academic and professional viewpoints continuously for the development of interpersonal skills of the student’s every time.
